In the video below I review the S&P 500 (SPX) and Russell 2000 (RUT) but then focus on oil and several oil companies. I start by looking at the United States Oil ETF (USO) and the Energy ETF (XLE) and then 8 oil company stocks.
First off, I look at Chevron (CVX) which is one of the largest integrated oil companies. I follow that by checking in on 3 exploration & production (E&P) companies…Apache (APA), Anadarko Petroleum (APC) and Devon Energy (DVN).
I then look at 3 oil contractor/services companies…Transocean (RIG), Haliburton (HAL) and Schlumberger (SLB). And last but not least I look at a refining/downstream company…Valero (VLO).
